Ergün Erkoçu and Cihan Bugdaci are behind the refreshing concept of a modern-day mosque in Holland: The Polder mosque. The building brings to the fore discussions that go far further than those about the architecture. The new mosques make Islam literally ‘visible’ in our surroundings and this unleashes all sorts of discussions on the integration, whether it be successful or not, of Muslims and the intercultural society.
