Sunday 23 September 2007 - 11.00 > 18.00
Pantalone, Martelaarsplein 10, 1000 Brussels
deBuren is a member of EUNIC Brussels, the umbrella organisation for national cultural institutions. The institutions that are partners in EUNIC also engage outside their national borders and operate with a certain degree of independence from their governments.
As part of the celebration of the European Day of Languages on 26th September, EUNIC Brussels, the umbrella organisation for cultural institutions, in association with the Pantalone Arts Centre, will be holding its fourth storytelling marathon to promote the diversity of language and oral tradition in Europe. Storytellers from ten European countries will tell stories and fairytales in eight languages. deBuren has invited Mia Verbeelen and Rudi Kuhn, both of whom are true story-tellers and have previously participated in other multilingual European projects. Mia Verbeelen was one of the story-tellers in Sprookjes voor vertrek (Fairytales before Take off) with which EUNIC Brussels visited various airports last summer. Rudi Kuhn was a narrator on Sesame Streetfor many years. His tales included stories about Dikkie Dik. Renowned storytellers from Germany, Great Britain, Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland and Rumania will work together with Verbeelen and Kuhn.
