Series of literary evenings presented by the Dutch Embassy: J. Bernlef Archive

Good neighbours

Wednesday 18 June 2008 - 19.45 > 21.30

Room M, Dutch Embassy, Hermann-Debrouxlaan 48, 1160 Brussels

Although Bernlef made his debut as a poet and prose writer in 1960, he is generally best known for his novel, Hersenschimmen (1984). The story centres around a man who is becoming demented. This year he was the author of the Dutch Book Week Gift, De pianoman. In the Dutch Embassy he will talk about the 2008 Book Week theme, 'Old people... the third age in literature', and will read from his own work.
