‘Achter de verhalen 4' takes place in downtown Utrecht. This seminar, biannually organized at different Dutch or Flemish universities, has grown into the most important seminar for modern Dutch Literary Studies. The seminar is spread over three days. The first day takes place in the Academiegebouw, is organized in collaboration with deBuren and is free and publicly accessible. Cultural critic Bas Heijne gives the first keynote lecture.

Boon connoisseur Kris Humbeeck (University of Amsterdam) will talk with Geert Buelens (University of Utrecht) about the work and life of Louis Paul Boon and the (im)possibility to write a comprehensive biography of this man.
