Re-use is re-evaluation. Management of urban innovation projects Archive
Thursday 22 November 2007 - 20.00 > 21.30
Cultureel Congrescentrum Elzenveld, Lange Gasthuisstraat 45, 2000 Antwerp
This Mind Europe seminar - a joint venture involving the universities of Tilburg, Delft, Antwerp and Brussels - is about the way urban administrations address or 'manage' innovation projects. The focus is threefold. It examines the position of the project in integral urban policy and the eventual impact on the city. When is a project successful? The second focus addresses the mutual coherence of the management instruments which the cities use as a 'director'. Finally, the third focus investigates how this knowledge and success can lead to a methodology. Which experiences are transferable in a comparative analysis of Dutch and Flemish cities?
The mayor of Antwerp, Patrick Janssens and Thom de Graaf, mayor of Nijmegen, present their vision of innovation projects in their cities. Projects in Flanders (including Antwerp, Kortrijk, Ostend and Ghent) and the Netherlands (including Amsterdam, Nijmegen, 's-Hertogenbosch and Hengelo) are compared.
