Poverty in Belgium. The shame of a rich country: Jan Béghin Archive

Although Belgium is a rich country, the gap between rich and poor widens every day. Solving poverty, to whatever extent, is a job for politicians. Convinced of this, Jan Béghin wrote a book, not that is was well-received in all quarters. Neo-liberal globalisation is after all the trend and this preaches the belief in the free market. The free market is for the ‘strong’, the government has to be there for the ‘weak’. A talk.
