The book that explains the worst conflict of our times
The new book by Gie Goris (editor in chief at MO* Magazine) deals with the battle for Afghanistan, Pakistan and Kashmir, a region he revisited this year for a long period of time. What do we really know about the causes and consequences of the war in which Belgian and Dutch soldiers are fighting? In Opstandland Goris unravels the complex cluster of conflicts. Theo Francken (N-VA), Dirk Vander Maelen (sp.a), Wouter Devriendt (Groen!) and Sabine de Bethune (CD&V) give short comments on the book.

BorderlivesBorderLives (Afghanistan - Pakistan - Kashmir)
Brecht Goris made an artistic coverage of conflict areas that have an impact on our future. With an eye for people being caught between religion and politics, and people who are trapped between the dotted lines on a geographical map. The exhibition is a coverage of a region filled with geopolitical meaning and history, with images that catch the everyday poetry in places where media is only looking for the reproduction of the same gruesome basic pictures.
Brecht Goris is a young photographer affiliated to the photographical agency Reporters. His photographs are published regularly in MO* and his work can be described as a combination of journalism and artistic work.
