Is the preservation of dialects in Flanders and the Netherlands a separate (language-)political issue or should it be an integral part of our heritage policy? Linguistic researcher Dr. Rob Belemans takes this question as a starting point for discussion with Ruud Hendrickx (language advisor VRT), Linde van den Bosch (Taalunie) and Jan Peumans (chairman of the Flemish Parliament). An appropriate musical intermission in a Dutch dialect will be inserted between the introductory account and the debate.
