'Krasse Knarren': Herman De Croo & Frits Korthals Altes Archive
Tuesday 13 November 2007 - 20.00 > 21.30
deBuren, Leopoldstraat 6, 1000 Brussels
Politicians are getting younger by the day, both in the Netherlands and in Flanders. Many welcome this development as a necessary breath of fresh air. Others regret the loss of top-level political experience.
Luckily for those who are worried about the rejuvenation trend in politics, many previous politicians continue to be actively involved in the causes they often spent decades fighting for. In the series 'Krasse Knarren' - the title is derived from the most celebrated old youngsters in the Netherlands, Kees van Kooten and Wim de Bie - deBuren offers a number of prominent figures the opportunity to have their say. What do the decision-makers of yore think of today's political world? The discussions will comprise a variety of central themes. They may well include the question of what divides Flanders and the Netherlands and what continues to bind them.
The series will start with two discussions. On 13th November two prominent liberals will talk about Flemish and Dutch liberalism. The speakers will be announced later on www.deburen.eu. On 4th December there will be a debate on politics and feminism between two politicians closely involved in the feminist movement, namely Hedy d'Ancona and Leona Detiège.
