'Grijze Cellen': are we too clean? Archive
The health consequences of our obsession with hygiene
Wednesday 10 October 2012 - 19:30
Handelsbeurs, Kouter 29, 9000 Ghent
More and more people (and especially children) suffer from allergies and asthma. It is often said that our over-hygienic lifestyle is at the root of all this. Does our western nosophobia put our immune system into overdrive? Must we let our children play and eat in the dirt? And what do academics have in store for us? Reinout Verbeke (Eos) talks with allergy specialist Jan Ceuppens (KU Leuven).
