E-POS II. Cross-pollination between Flanders and South Africa Archive
Tuesday 20 November 2007 - 20.00 - 21.30
deBuren, Leopoldstraat 6, 1000 Brussels
E-POS II tells the story of intense artistic communication between modern artists and writers from Flanders and South Africa. 'E-pos' is Afrikaans for 'electronic mail'. The authors used the word in its literary meaning. The artists integrated their writing in their works and arrived at a new visual language. The result is a cross-pollination of disciplines and a gem of a portfolio for bibliophiles.
The artist and project leader Veerle Rooms and her team will present and explain the E-POS II project at deBuren. Lut De Block, Peter Holvoet-Hanssen, Gabeba Baderoon, Charl-Pierre Naudé and the project leader for literature, Willem Persoon, will present work from E-POS II. The artist Monique Thomaes will give her view of this synergy between the two cultural communities. The evening will be presented in a setting of South African music.
This remarkable portfolio will be exhibited in the entrance hall of the Culture Department of the Flemish Community, 7 Arenbergstraat, 1000 Brussels. The opening will take place at 6.30 pm on Tuesday 20 November.
