"Has Love no voice, can Love not keep
A Maytime vow in cities?”

W.H. Auden

It is not because it is 14th February that love is nothing more than a bunch of flowers with a ribbon from someone who wants to avoid trouble for forgetting yet again. Love can be all sorts of things and can be felt for anything. People, cities, art, landscapes or silences. Others experience love for cats, dogs, horses and cars or just for something small, something that has a unique meaning for them. Is love in the city different to that in an enchanting moonlit forest? Is love a homeless tramp who moves from window to window and watches the lives within?

On this Valentine's Day Stefan Hertmans asks questions about love. Kamiel Vanhole and Caroline Lamarche join him in finding the answers. He also asks writers like Fernando Pessoa, K.P. Kavafis and Vladimir Nabokov about love. Although they cannot be there they are never absent. Josse Depauw gives them a voice.
