The 26th of August will be the day of art criticism at the ‘Theaterfestival’. We will launch Stomp niet af, stomp terug (Don’t become blunted, be blunt): the collected theatre essays by Wim Van Gansbeke for De Morgen and the radio program Happening. Over a period of twenty years Van Gansbeke wrote about the ups and downs of theatre with a sharp pen and a compelling voice. After an introduction by Wouter Hillaert, a couple of new kids on the block will breathe new life into the reviews. Apart from the book presentation we will discuss which types of art criticism are recognizable today and how art reviews can reach the general public.
