Saskia de Coster travelled to Skopje in Macedonia in the end of 2011 in order to get to know the city. She made this trip for citybooks, a European residential project by deBuren. Coster recites her story Honderveertig kilo liefde (140 kilos of love) and will talk with citybooks editor Willem Bongers-Dek about her experiences in Skopje.

After De eerste hond in de ruimte (2010) (The first dog in space) Jeroen van Rooij has written a second novel. Het licht (The light) by Van Rooij tells the story of six young people who are overwhelmingly under the impression that they are made for each other. Harold Polis will give an introduction.

Tom Lanoye connects Flanders and The Netherlands with his 'Boekenweekgeschenk'

On Sunday the 18th of March deBuren will treat travellers on the InterCity train between Antwerp and Amsterdam to reading sessions from the ‘Boekenweekgeschenk' by Tom Lanoye. Young actors recite fragments from his short story on the train. Foreign speakers are welcome too as we've arranged an English translation.
